Under Glass

Wednesday, 9 September 2026

A watering can works the floor of a hot glasshouse: glazed pots tip off the shelves overhead, and each one throws a tightening shadow before it lands.

Objective

Steer the watering can around a glasshouse floor while glazed indigo pots tip off the shelves overhead. Every pot opens a wide violet ring on the gravel and tightens it as it falls. When the ring closes onto its footprint, that circle of ground is lethal — for one instant only.

Scoring

One point per second alive, ten for every seed you water. A seed within 1.6 units rolls to you on its own, so a dodge that passes near one collects it for free.

Getting better

Standing inside an open ring is perfectly safe; leaving it late is not. Even at the tightest, a ring gives you 0.55 seconds and you need barely a fifth of that to clear it — so no single pot can beat you. What beats you is the aim. Pots are thrown at where you are running, not where you are, and that lead grows to half a second by 27 s. Hold a straight line and it lands on you exactly. Change direction and it lands behind you. Two drop collars mean one free mistake; the second crack ends the run.
